The large kamut grain has a chew to it similar to ground beef.
Diet Types: Vegan, Vegetarian
Ingredients:
1 cup Kamut grain, soaked overnight, drained
3 cups water
2 cups cooked Pinto Beans
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 15 ounce can stewed tomatoes
4 drops Tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon Cumin
Serves: 6
Cooking Time: Over one hour
Instructions:
Bring soaked Kamut and water to a boil in a large pot. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, covered, until all water is absorbed, about 30-40 minutes. Add remaining ingredients in with Kamut. Simmer for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
