As the unpasteurized milk trend has quickly caught on as part of the growing natural food movement, government health officials are warning against drinking raw milk, regardless of the marketing that strive to link raw milk with beneficial microbes that treat everything from asthma to autism.
In California and Pennsylvania, health officials are cracking down on producers who sell raw milk for human consumption. Last year, Maryland, health officials issued an emergency ban on “cow-sharing” agreements, claiming they were aimed at skirting a ban on raw milk sales.
John Sheehan, head of the FDA’s dairy office, said: “Raw milk should not be consumed by anyone for any reason. It is an inherently dangerous product.”

Raw milk is “an inherently dangerous product” - as opposed to the thousands of “safe” drugs and vaccines that the FDA approves, right? Doesn’t the FDA have anything better to worry about right now. What about all of the food that they have been recalling lately which has been spreading salmonella and e-coli and even killing Americans? Again, seems like they should spend their resources elsewhere.
You have a point, but the concerns of the FDA may be that raw milk could make some people sick, and people should know the inherent risks in drinking raw milk. I agree that it is not that “dangerous” to warrant a ban, but people need to know the risks.
